BOOBOO STEWART AND ABIGAIL BRESLIN TO STAR IN DRAMA-COMEDY ‘A GOOD FIGHT’

Booboo Stewart (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), and Aaron Kuban (Jobs) have been attached to lead the new drama-comedy A GOOD FIGHT; directed by Robert Rippberger (Renner), written by Pierce Gardner (Dan in Real Life), and produced by Justin Shaner and Fernando H. Rojas of Miami’s Sobe Brooke Studios.

A GOOD FIGHT follows a successful small-town businessman whose interview with an annoying college newspaper reporter spins out of control - and turns both their lives around.  Tonally akin to ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’, the film is a heartfelt drama about a man trying to do the right thing, with a generous dose of comedy added to the mix.

“Abigail and Booboo bring such heart, depth, and authenticity to everything they do,” says Sobe Brooke’s Justin Shaner. “This story walks a fine line between humor and emotional honesty, and we couldn’t ask for a better cast to bring that balance to life.”

Production is set to begin this month and will take place at Rippberger’s ‘White Lightning Studios’ in North Carolina, taking advantage of the competitive 25% tax rebate through the state’s Film and Entertainment Grant. Additional filming will take place at Meredith College in Raleigh, marking the beginning of an official partnership between the school and studio.

“We’re honored to partner with Meredith College,” says Rippberger. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to build meaningful ties with the local creative community, while creating real-world learning opportunities for the next generation of storytellers.”

Booboo Stewart was recently cast in the chess thriller Contra, opposite Kal Penn and Nicole Elizabeth Berger. He previously starred in the horror-thriller Those Who Walk Away, and had additional roles in the HBO Max drama My Dead Dad, and Let Him Go starring Diane Lane and Kevin Costner. Stewart is best known from franchises including Disney Channel’s Descendants, The Twilight Saga, and X-Men

Academy Award®-nominated actress Abigail Breslin rose to international prominence with her unforgettable performance as ‘Olive’ in the critically acclaimed feature Little Miss Sunshine. More recently, she starred opposite Matt Damon in Stillwater, directed by Tom McCarthy and released by Focus Features, which premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Her diverse film credits also include August: Osage County alongside Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, Ender’s Game, Maggie (with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tribeca Film Festival premiere), Haunter, The Call, Zombieland and Zombieland: Double Tap, My Sister’s Keeper, New Year’s Eve, Rango, Nim’s Island, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, Raising Helen, The Santa Clause 3, No Reservations, Definitely, Maybe, and M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs.

Aaron Kuban studied acting at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, his favorite role being Charlie Cotchipee in Purlie Victorious. He graduated cum laude and was chosen by the college of arts and sciences to speak at his graduation ceremony. Upon graduation he moved to Los Angeles and has obtained notable credits including: Jobs, CSI, Web of Make Believe, Sol Invictous, and Little Blue Pill, along with dozens of short films and commercials.
